I have lots of news to share with you!

To begin with, our mood board design page is now live on www.beehappyhome.co.uk

You can order your own bespoke mood boards for any room of the house or even the whole house if you want a complete re-vamp.

You can see mood board examples and projects already finished on the website.

In December last year I had a photo shoot at home all dressed for Christmas and have had the news this week that 25 Beautiful Homes would like to feature this, Christmas this year!

Also, a kitchen of mine will be featured in Ideal Homes magazine in a Spring edition of the magazine this year, real soon.

Bee happy ...... decorate rustic style!

I have been working on a rustic style kitchen and wanted to share the mood board with you all.

The main feature of the kitchen will be the hare wallpaper.

There will be lots of natural colours including greys and taupe with different textures and plenty of linen fabrics!

Glass storage jars will have chalk board labels on so the contents of the jar can be written on the front.

I will be wallpapering soon so watch this space for finished photos.

Bee happy ...... pick Christmas colours

It's that time of year again when we are all thinking about Christmas.

What colours are you using this year for your deocrations?

Are you using pastels, reds, whites, golds, silvers?

I have decided to use pastels this year with pink, purple and silver being the theme.

Bee happy ..... beautiful rugs from Chairish

Chairish recently asked me to share my taste for colour by creating a style board around a vintage rug by taking a room from white to bright!

I had the hard job of choosing a colourful rug from their latest collection and creating a style board designed around that pattern and colour scheme.

These are just a few of the amazing rugs from Chairish which I had to choose from.

With Christmas approaching the beautiful purple medallion Turkish rug caught my eye with its pop of colour and wonderful texture.

I designed my style board around this and Christmas to create a perfect relaxing, luxurious lounge, naming my design Berry Christmas!

I chose muted, pale colours for the walls and furniture so the purple rug would really stand out.

Silver and purple accessories enhance the scheme, adding a touch of sparkle for Christmas.

A glass chandelier is perfect for adding a touch of glamour to the room.

Bee happy ...... it's Autumn

It's that time of year again when you start to feel that slight chill to the air and you can wear all of your cosy jumpers and cardigans.

It's also a great excuse to update your home with some Autumnal colours and add some jars or bowls of conkers and pine cones to accessories.

Bee happy ..... add stripes

A great way to add a wow factor to any room is to use stripes.
Stripes can be used on walls, windows, floors or accessories. I recently came across these images from Pinterest and love the way the stripes have been painted on the walls, this is a great way of achieving the industrial look at the same time of adding a feature to any room.

Softer colours can help make a stripe feel more feminine and elegant and can be used in a female bedroom, bathroom or any room where you don’t want to much of an impact but still want some interest.
I just adore this room with the yellow border it’s also a great way of adding interest but because of the one stripe around the room other stripes can also be introduced into the scheme. Striped accessories in the form of a cushions or throws would work really well in this room but so would a striped blind.

Apollo Blinds have just launched their Twilight range of blinds and these would be a perfect way of adding stripes into any room.

These grey stripe blinds are perfect for an industrial style bedroom or office but I think a darker colour would make more of an feature in a lounge/dining room.
How will you use stripes in your home?

Bee happy .... industrial chic office

I wanted to share this Industrial chic office with you.

The mood board above shows the different aspects and colours needed for the room.

The main colours were white and grey but to lift the room some green accents were needed.

This was found in the form of this great green desk lamp.

Clipboards were used as notice boards with wire storage trays and painted magazine files.

A chalk board was introduced using an old frame. The chalk paint was painted onto
the wall then the frame was secured over the top of the paint.

Hope you like the finished result.

Bee happy .... finished kitchen

Remember this gorgeous kitchen I was working on a couple of weeks ago?

The brief was to make the room feel more welcoming and warmer and add some pastel touches.

The kitchen has had the final finishing touches added and has been dressed and is now ready to be seen.

Gorgeous wallpaper and painted furniture compliment the already beautiful blue cabinets.

The breakfast bar was created with a kitchen base unit and an old table top which was then waxed.

A settee was introduced into the kitchen for a more relaxed feel.

My client is really pleased with the results and loves using this room now.

Bee happy ..... create a kitchen mood board

In my interior designer role I have created a mood board for this beautiful kitchen in which the owner's brief was to make it more warm and homely using pastels.

The owner also requested an island unit/breakfast bar in the centre of the room to replace a large table which seated 6 people.

After considering several options an old wooden table top was sourced for the island unit which works out perfectly.

These are the before pictures.

The kitchen is a work in progress and the decorators are still working.

The finished kitchen will follow shortly.

Bee happy .... update your sofa for Spring

A great way of updating your lounge for Spring is adding new cushions or even covering your sofa.

We have had brown leather sofa for years from Ikea and I decided to update them with the cream covers they sell.

The sofas now look like new ones and the living room looks a lot brighter.

I made some new cushion covers with some vintage style fabric I have been hoarding for a few years!

Everything looks a lot brighter!

Bee happy .... love a dressing room

I have seriously been considering turning a spare bedroom into a dressing room.

Would you rather have a dressing room that you used every day?

Or have a spare bedroom which is used to store the finished ironing and dry clothes?

Which would you have?

Spare bedroom or dressing room?
